HOMESTEAD

In the Better Homes and Garden American Patchwork & Quilting magazine number 194 I saw this quilt.  I loved the design and the colors that were used.  In August 2025 I went on a Traveling Quilters trip to Chicago and Illinois.  We visited four quilt shops.  I had the list of fabrics needed for this quilt and bought all the fabric needed, even the backing.  The design is called Homestead and was designed by Anna Dineen.

Quilt was finished on October 26, 2025. I decided to do a Prairie Point binding. I hate the corners on a traditional Prairie Point border so I added a point to each corner.

Eatonville High School Fundraiser

My niece, Ruby Skelton, asked me to make a quilt for a fundraiser her high school was having October 11, 2025. She wanted Mt. Rainer and Eatonville Cruisers 2026.  I found a panel with Mt. Rainer and a pattern I liked. The school colors are royal blue and white so I made the stars in those colors and the lettering. I thought the white squares inside the stars was perfect for appliqués of different sports and one of their mascot.

The auction for the quilt was held October 11, 2025. The auction raised over $40,000. The photo below is Ruby with the quilt. While the auction was going on Ruby walked around showing off quilt. THANK YOU RUBY!!!
